Preparation Guide

Be patient with yourself. You and your tutor are building a partnership, so give yourself space to adjust and grow. While your tutor provides expertise, you are the primary driver of your success. To maximize your investment, arrive ready to lead the conversation and own your learning process.

Ensure your materials are ready to share. If your problems are digital, there is no need to send them ahead of time—you can simply share your screen, and the tutor will take screenshots as needed. However, if you are working from physical textbooks or documents, please have them organized and ready before the session begins.

If you are studying between sessions, stay organized by saving screenshots of difficult problems in a folder or noting them in a dedicated notebook. This prevents you from wasting valuable session time searching through materials for the problems you found challenging.

When the goal is a topical review rather than specific problems, you don't need to send documents in advance; just notify the tutor of the topics beforehand. To make the review more effective, try to identify exactly where your confusion lies so the session can focus on the specific gaps in your understanding.

Ultimately, your active participation determines the quality of the experience. Don’t just watch the math happen—do the work. Ask "why" frequently, challenge your understanding, and take ownership of the problem-solving process. Your growth is your responsibility, and a great session starts with your commitment to being prepared.
